Chinese stainless steel prices witnessed a downward trend during this month because of lower raw material costs and the decrease in steel mills' list prices. However, expecting the price to drop further, customers without urgent need for materials were just holding a wait-and-see attitude and placing orders sparingly. Having no confidence in the market outlook, traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles. Insiders suppose prices would go down further in the coming month.
