USITC makes final anti-dumping and countervailing determinations on cast iron soil pipe from China

On 20 March 2019, the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of cast iron soil pipe from China that the U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) has determined are subsidized and sold in the United States at less than fair value. 5 Commissioners voted in the affirmative. As a result of the USITC's affirmative determinations, Commerce will issue antidumping and countervailing duty orders on imports of this product from China. The investigations contained products under HTSUS codes 7303.00.0030.
On 16 February 2018, the Commerce initiated anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on cast iron soil pipe from China in response to the application lodged by the Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute on 26 January 2018. On 9 March 2018, USITC made the preliminary positive anti-dumping and countervailing determinations on cast iron soil pipe from China. On 26 June 2018, the Commerce announced the preliminary countervailing determination on the material mentioned above. On 27 August 2018, the Commerce conducted the preliminary anti-dumping ruling. On 25 February 2019, it performed final affirmative anti-dumping and countervailing determinations on cast iron soil pipe imported from China.
