Chinese stainless steel prices witnessed an upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and the increase in steel mills' list prices. However, seeing the sharp price increase, customers without urgent need for materials were still holding a wait-and-see attitude and placing orders sparingly. The market sales performance continued to be unsatisfying. Because of the high purchase cost and weak customer demand, traders refused to build large stockpiles. Insiders do not expect the price to go up further in the coming month.
