1. Market Highlights
In 2018, Chinese vanadium prices experienced two main phases. In the first ten months, vanadium prices soared and hit the record high affected by relevant policies, including import bans on vanadium slag and new standards on rebar released on 1 November. However, as the standards on rebar were not implemented strictly, market demand didn't increase as much as expected. As a result, vanadium prices dropped by over 50% compared with the highest level in early November. Sharp increases and decreases in vanadium prices attracted more attention from market participants, much higher than that for other minor metals. Thus, a great number of metal market insiders began to focus on vanadium products.
