It's recently reported that the U.S. cancelled the vice-ministerial level talk with China, which was scheduled to be held in Washington this week. The spokesman of Ministry of Commerce of the P.R.C denied the report on 24 January and revealed that China and the U.S. have maintained close communication.
"Invited by U.S. Treasury Secretary and trade representative, Vice Premier Liu He will visit the U.S. on 30-31 January and have senior-level talks on trade and economic issues with them in order to put significant consensus reached by heads of both nations into practice. China and the U.S. are working closely on relevant arrangements."
The spokesman further noted that China and the U.S. had a deep discussion in Beijing in early January. Based on such basis, representatives from both nations will have in-depth negotiation on all trade and economic issues concerned by the other party in the upcoming meeting based on the abovementioned consensus.
