Chinese stainless steel prices kept the downward trend during this month due to lower raw material costs and weak demand from downstream customers. However, the market sales performance continued to be unsatisfying as customers without urgent need for materials were expecting the price to drop further and refusing to place orders. Being pessimistic about the market outlook at the year end, traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles and the market inventory kept low. Insiders do not think the market would improve in the coming month with the arrival of the Spring Festival.
