1. Market Highlights
Prices for section steel went down obviously in major Chinese domestic markets during the month, and those in other Asian markets also dropped. Meanwhile, significant price decline of steel billet, the direct raw material for section steel weakened market participants' confidence to a large extent. End users only purchased according to urgent needs seeing the downward price trend, for fear of another price decrease. Reporting narrowed profits or even losses, mills were less active in producing, and thus the supply for section steel is likely to be reduced. Considering the overall market inventory runs on a low level, insiders do not think the price for section steel will go down again in December.
