1. Market Highlights
Dragged by the sharp decreased prices of raw materials and sluggish demand from downstream industries, CRC and HGI coil prices in Chinese leading markets recorded a markdown of around RMB500/t (USD73/t) in November. Steel mills such as Ansteel cut EXW prices for December production to attract orders. However, traders were short of confidence in the coming market and cautious in replenishing stocks at the end of the year, when they faced some problems of capital flow. In the international market, pressured by lower export offers from China, CRC prices in Asian countries such as Vietnam followed the downward trend. Taking all factors into consideration, insiders predict that prices of CRC and HGI coil are likely to come down further in December but the markdown will be limited.
