China to urge implementation of environmental emergency plan

On 2 November, the 2018-2019 program for further controlling air pollution in key areas was still underway. The inspection team conducted inspections on implementation of emission reduction emergency plan for heavy pollution, during which 968 companies (sites) were involved and 15 companies (sites) failed to meet relevant requirements. Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) will urge local governments to set up early warning system and strictly carry out such emergency plans by conducting inspections in both daytime and at night.
