Fujian to build two hundred-billion steel industry clusters

Recently, Fujian Development and Reform Commission and the Fujian Provincial Commission of Economy and Information issued "Building Modern Industrial System to Advance Hundred-billion Industrial Cluster Promotion Plan (2018-2020)" ("Plan"). The Plan determines the development of 27 hundred-billion industrial clusters such as power battery and rare earth graphene new materials industry, modern steel industry, stainless steel industry, and gold-copper-aluminum industry shall be the key goal in the next three years. The construction plan of hundred-billion modern steel and stainless steel industrial clusters is as follows:
Modern steel industry: Focusing on the modern steel industry in Sanming, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, and Fuzhou, relying on Sanming Iron and Steel Processing Zone, Zhangzhou Iron and Steel Processing Zone, Fuzhou Iron and Steel Concentration Zone and other industrial concentration zones to support the growth of Sansteel Group, Sanbao Steel, etc.; focusing on the development of downstream application industry such as steel plates for vehicles and ships and steel structural material; striving to achieve an output value of RMB130 billion by 2020.
Stainless steel industry: Focusing on the stainless steel industry in Ningde, Fuzhou, and Zhangzhou, relying on Ningde Stainless Steel Industrial Concentration Zone, Fuzhou Stainless Steel Industrial Concentration Zone, Zhangzhou Stainless Steel Industrial Concentration Zone, and Wuping Stainless Steel Industrial Park, etc., supporting the growth of Qingtuo Group, Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel, Fuxin Special Steel, Hongwang Industrial, and other enterprises, focusing on the development of stainless steel deep processing and application industry chain, striving to achieve an output value of RMB150 billion by 2020.
