Hebei announces provincial standards on extra-low emissions by steel and coking industries

Hebei Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau announced at its website recently that Hebei provincial standards on extra-low emissions by local steel and coking industries will go into force from January 1, 2019 on. The new standards are the most strict compared with the existing domestic and international standards for steel and coking emissions; and by October 2020, particulate matters, sulfur dioxide and oxynitride emissions by Hebei steel industry will be cut by 15.9%, 64.8% and 64.9% respectively, and the three emissions by Hebei coking industry will be cut by 23%, 56.7% and 59.1% respectively.
