Chinese stainless steel prices witnessed different trends during this month. Prices of stainless steel flat products went up mainly supported by the low market inventory, while those of stainless steel long products decreased on lower raw material costs and weak customer demand. The market sales performance did not become better as customers without urgent need for materials were just holding a wait-and-see attitude and refusing to place orders. Having no confidence in the market outlook, traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles and the market inventory kept low. Insiders do not expect the market to improve in the coming month.
