Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) announced recently that it will strengthen regulation on environmental issues in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas by taking advantage of satellite remote sensing technology in order to improve environmental supervision performance in above key regions and find environmental issues as early as possible.
Limited law enforcement officials have to work in relatively large areas, so they could not find environmental issues in time with low work efficiency. MEE took action in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding "2+26" cities in 2017 by adopting grid management.
As scheduled, "2+26" cities have started supervision on key grids since this June and then more cities will be involved, including 11 cities in Fen-Wei Plain and 41 cities in Yangtze River Delta.
MEE will construct a new working mode by adopting internet technology and big data to further improve the air pollution control by upgrading supervision performance.
