Indonesia levies AD on color coated steel originating in China and Vietnam

According to the news from Vietnamese media on July 11, KADI decided to impose AD (anti-dumping duty) measures on color coated steel imported from Vietnam and China. KADI believed that Indonesia imported 12.01-28.49% steel plate from Vietnam, which caused serious injury on Indonesian steel industry, so KPPI proposed that 5-year AD measures should be imposed on color coated steel from Vietnam.
KADI conducted AD investigation on color coated steel from Vietnam on December 23, 2016. Involved product was under HS codes 7210.70.70.00, 7212.40.10.00 and 7212.40.20.00. It noted that Indonesia totally imported 224,000t of color coated steel from July 2015 to June 2016 with 196,000t of the product from Vietnam and China, accounting for 87.5% of total imports. On January 9, 2018, KADI announced basic information of AD investigation and held a public hearing on January 26.
