1. Market Highlights
With the approaching of the Chinese Spring Festival holiday in early February, some small manganese plants in South China suspended production of manganese flake and meanwhile rumors in the market claimed that Tianyuan Manganese would suspend production for a few days during the holiday. Thus, prices for the material held firm in the market. After the end of the holiday in late February, steel plants in China started to open biddings. However, due to limited spot materials, plants maintained offers quite firm, pushing up higher prices in the domestic market, which are expected to stay at high level in China in the first half of March.
