On December 26, Inner Mongolia Rare Earth Functional Materials Innovation Center was established in Baotou with the goal of rapidly improving R & D efficiency of high-end rare earth functional materials.
Inner Mongolia Rare Earth Functional Materials Innovation Center is a scientific and technological innovation research and development platform jointly established by China Northern Rare Earth Group, Baotou Rare Earth Research Institute, Baotou Rare Earth R & D Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences and other twelve shareholders. The Innovation Center will rely on Baotou's existing state-level key laboratories and technology centers to set up a center for test and evaluation of rare earth materials, testing rare earth magnetic materials, hydrogen storage materials, polishing materials and catalytic additives, etc., providing rare earth new materials companies and downstream applying enterprises with technical evaluation, design testing, functional verification and other services. In addition, the center will also speed up personnel training as well as exchange and cooperation to meet industrial development needs through cooperation among industry, universities and research institutes; accelerating the transformation and commercialization of innovative achievements by incubating rare earth new materials enterprises, actively carrying out international scientific and technological cooperation, introducing advanced foreign equipment and technology then absorbing, digesting and re-innovating to become a national-level innovation center of cutting-edge technologies and common key technologies, promoting the production and application of rare earth functional materials in China to quickly reach an international advanced level.
