Shaanxi and Chongqing cooperate on coal-steel capacity replacement

Sources from Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. ("Shaanxi Coal and Chemical") had it that a cross-province strategic cooperation model on energy was pioneered between Shaanxi and Chongqing, as over 5 million tons of coal have been transported from Shaanxi to Chongqing while Shaanxi Coal and Chemical's subsidiary company Shaanxi Iron & Steel (Group) has purchased 1 million tons of imported iron ore via Chongqing port since early 2017. In 2018 Shaanxi Coal and Chemical and Chongqing will further expand their strategic cooperation to make sure that additional 3.5 million tons of coal produced by Shaanxi be transported to Chongqing; and with a total of 8.5 million tons of Shaanxi-produced coal to be available in the Chongqing market, surrounding provinces such as Sichuan and Guizhou can also benefit from it.
