KOBELCO's one copper pipe product revoked of JIS mark certification

Kobe Steel Group (“KOBELCO”) confirmed on October 26th that one of its copper pipe product produced by its subsidiary Kobelco & Materials Copper Tube, Ltd. (“the Subsidiary”) has been revoked of Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) mark certification due to tampering of data from inspection certificate.
KOBELCO confirmed on October 20th that the Subsidiary tempered with data from an inspection certificate of a seamless copper tube product with JIS mark.
On 26th this month, KOBELCO announced that the seamless copper tubes with JIS mark produced by the Subsidiary and delivered before September 2016 didn’t meet JIS-required quality standard. The Subsidiary received notice on 26th that its JIS mark certification has been revoked and it is not allowed to use JIS mark when launch this kind of product from now on.
