In September, prices for ferrosilicon decreased continually because of the increasing supply. By the end of the month, prices for ferrosilicon moved up by RMB2,300/t from the end of last month. Considering the weakening downstream demand, industry insiders forecasted that the price for ferrosilicon would decrease in October.
In September, affected by the trend of factory prices, export prices for Chinese ferrosilicon kept moving down. As to the end of the month, export prices went down by USD300/t from the end of last month. Industry insiders predicted that in October the export price for ferrosilicon would go down following the factory prices.
