CITIC Dameng turns losses into gains in H1 2017 with net profit of HKD700 million

CITIC Dameng (01091) announced that the company’s turnover reaches HKD2.747 billion in H1 2017 ended on June 30, 2017, up by 115.3% YOY; the profit attributable to the owners of the parent company is HKD70.10 million, while it losses HKD137 million over the same period of last year; gross margin rate is 14.2%, an increase of 3.3 percentage points.
According to the announcement, reasons for the increased turnover are as follows: the average prices and sale volume of its core products of electrolytic manganese metal and manganese briquettees moved up; Gabon mine restarted operation and sales in early 2017, leading to substantially increased sale volume of Gabon ore; business earnings in Hong Kong starting in May 2016 increased.
