EU makes final anti-dumping decision on seamless pipes and tubes from China

The European Commission (“the Commission”) announced on May 12, 2017 that a final anti-dumping decision on certain seamless pipes and tubes of iron or steel from China was made and the Commission will impose 29.2%-54.9% of countervailing duty on Chinese product concerned. The product concerned is currently falling within CN codes 7304 19 90, ex 7304 29 90, 7304 39 98 and 7304 59 99 (EU TARIC code: 7304299090). On February 13th, 2016, The European Commission (“the Commission”) launched an anti-dumping investigation on certain seamless pipes and tubes of iron and steel originating in the People's Republic of China at the request of The Defence Committee of the Seamless Steel Tubes Industry of the European Union on behalf of EU manufactures, which contribute to over 25% of total output of the seamless steel tubes and like product in EU. The investigation date was between Jan 1, 2015 and Dec 31, 2015. EU announced on Nov 11, 2016 that it made a preliminary anti-dumping decision on certain seamless pipes and tubes of iron and steel originating in China and a ruling to impose provisional anti-dumping duty of 43.5%-81.1% on Chinese product concerned.
