WBMS: Global copper market faces supply surplus of 58,000t in 2016

According to reports from WBMS on Wednesday, the global copper market faces a supply surplus of 58,000t in 2016, while the figure was 141,000t for 2015.
The global copper output from mines amounted to 20.66 million tonnes in 2016, up by 6.9% YOY.
The global refined copper output rose to 23.46 million tonnes in 2016, up by 2.1% YOY. In particular, the output of China and Spain rose by 476,000t and 14,000t respectively.
The global copper consumption amounted to 23.40 million tonnes in 2016, while this figure was 22.83 million tonnes in 2015.
In December 2016, the global refined copper industry produced a total of 1.9945 million tonnes and consumed 1.9708 million tonnes.
