During January 2017, the Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min market echoed with inspiring news that plants resumed production, indicating that the market ran better than in the first quarters of 2016, seeing plants successively resuming production at the end of 2016. Thanks to this, the tightness in supply in the spot market was relieved and prices for gallium metal retreated slightly. In addition, with the approaching of the Spring Festival, the spot market saw limited transactions; and suppliers, under pressure from their stocks, lowered prices in advance in order to gear themselves up for the forthcoming vigorous competition after the holiday.
