Demand for gallium metal 99.99%min from downstream customers in the Chinese market was generally weak in July. As we were in the slack season, magnetic material plants mainly purchased material on a hand-to-mouth basis, resulting in a decline in orders over the month. Meanwhile, end users and traders were reluctant to hold stocks as it’s hard to conserve the material in summer. However, mainstream prices for gallium metal were firm during the month as most producers had halted production. It is anticipated that the Chinese market for gallium metal will continue to be quiet in August with demand from downstream customers still sluggish.
