In the background of the government’s cutting excessive production capacity and environmental protection inspection, the supply for raw materials such as steel billet showed some signs of being tight in early and middle August, causing increased prices. Supported by increased production cost, prices of CRC and HGI coil generally recorded an upward trend this month. However, the market began to weaken in the end of the month due to the bad market performance after prices rebounded. Insiders predict prices for CRC and HGI coil are likely to fluctuate and be on the downward trend in September.
