Shizhuyuan Nonferrous goes into trial production of molybdenum concentrate

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 Mar 16 - Hunan Shizhuyuan Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd. started the trial production of molybdenum concentrate last week and expects to go into full production in early March. The company halted the molybdenum concentrate production in early December last year to carry out maintenance on equipments and take Spring Festival holidays.
“We just resumed operation, so we don’t have many molybdenum concentrate in stock and thus we don’t provide quotations in the market at present,” the source noted and added the mainstream price of Chinese molybdenum concentrate 45%min stands at RMB810-840/mtu (USD5.56-5.77/lb) and it still follows a downward trend with rare transactions in the market.
Located in Chengzhou, Hunan, the company mainly engages in the production of bismuth and molybdenum concentrate is the byproduct whose annual capacity is 1,800t. Before the production suspension, the source maintained his monthly output at 150t and expects to see a comparable amount of output after resuming the production.
