Prices for CRC and HGI coil in China’s leading markets remained on an upward trend in early January as the supply continued to be relatively tight at the time. However, prices had little chance ofholding firm later in the month with steel mills deliveringa large amount of new material to the market. As a consequence, prices began to show a downward trend in the latter half of this month. Demand was shrinkingby the end of January with the Spring Festival holiday approaching. Insiders predict prices for CRC and HGI coil will decline slightly in February.
