The market saw limited deals concluded in November due to successive production halts from selenium powder end users in industries like glasses, ceramics and etc. Market participants were extremely pessimistic towards the market. In order to conclude deals, Chinese suppliers competed fiercely by sending lower offers. The market is expected to move on the same trend in December and most producers and traders will accelerate the steps to recoup funds by releasing stocks with the approaching of the year end.
The price for tellurium metal 99.99%min saw anther price decline of RMB50/kg (USD7.75/kg) in November by following the downward trend of October. The sluggish demand and limited sales were prevailing in both Chinese and overseas tellurium metal markets. It is predicted that cheaper crude tellurium will occur in the Chinese domestic market, which will strengthen the downward pressure on the refined tellurium price.
