Chinese silicon metal market continued the sluggish trend in November and the prices dropped sharply due to the weak demand and thin trading. With the arrival of dry season, many silicon metal smelters in Yunnan and Sichuan stopped production in the end of November and silicon metal price stabilized gradually. Chinese silicon metal export market was quiet in November. As a reaction to the poor demand, local price drop and RMB depreciation against US dollars, Chinese silicon metal export price dropped continually. Overseas buyers mainly made purchase on hand-to-mouth basis in small quantities, and the overall export market was inactive.
