Prices of wire rod and rebar witnessed a downward trend in Chinese leading markets this month, influenced by the price drop of raw materials such as iron ore and steel billet. In addition, the market performances did not see any improvement as the demand from engineering projects continued to shrink with winter’s approaching. Participants were short of confidence in the market recovery and preferred to be cautious about the coming market. Insiders predict that prices for wire rod and rebar are unlikely to rebound in December.
