After a slight decline in early September, Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min prices started to stabilize and held steady for the rest of the month, even though the market activity had been even more subdued with many users purchasing from hand to mouth and expecting the prices to slide. During the month, a lot of producers slashed or suspended production, among them, Guangxi Debao Gallium Co., Ltd., which reduced its output to around 3t, Chinalco Zunyi Gallium Oxide Plant stopped production in late September, and Jiaozuo Kefeng Non-ferrous Metals Co., Ltd. will not resume production until October. In the export market, although more inquiries could be seen in September than in July and Augustwith the annual summer break coming to an end in Europe and America, the amount of actual deals didn’t showa marked increase. What’s more, impacted by the explosion in Tianjin port, Chinese-origin gallium metal was more often than not exported through Guangzhou and Lianyungang because transportation through Tianjin has been difficult.
