Chinese silicon metal prices stabilized gradually in late August and the price for 5-5-3 picked up slightly. In the first half of September, Chinese silicon metal market saw more purchasing activities and the price for low-grade silicon metal increased while those for high-grade silicon meal saw little fluctuation. In late September, the market calmed down again with decreasing transactions. However, supported by the production cost, silicon metal price held firm. Chinese silicon metal export market saw more orders in the second half of August and early September, and the market was quiet in late September.
