BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Jul 15 - Thai welded pipe market runs slowly without the strong support from downstream demand at this moment. Insiders foresee an inactive welded pipe market in Thailand in following several weeks.
A trader from Bangkok tells Asian Metal that the price of welded pipe ASTM A53B Φ114.3mm*3.75mm is THB20,000/t (USD574/t), the same as that of last week.
Noted by the source, the demand for welded pipe remains stagnant and the sales performance for most local traders is not quite satisfying. According to him, his current daily sales volume for welded pipe is 300t against 600-700t in the high season. He tells Asian Metal that the construction industry runs slowly in Thailand and the welded pipe market is likely to remain sluggish for some time.
An end user from Rayong reports that the procurement price of welded pipe ASTM A53B Φ114.3mm*3.75mm is THB20,500/t (USD588/t), unchanged compared with that of last week.
The source confirms a dim steel market and sluggish construction industry. According to him, there are not many construction projects in local market for the time being. He has reduced the purchasing volume from 1,000tpm in the high season to the current one of 200-300tpm. He doesn’t believe that Thai welded pipe market will recover in the near future.
