The Chinese domestic welded pipe market was still performing unsatisfactorily this month and prices in most regions maintained a downward trend. Prices of raw materials such as iron ore decreased throughout the first two weeks of the month, which ruined traders’ confidence in the market outlook. However, the price of raw materials rebounded at the end of the month, and that of welded pipe also tracked back up. Demand from downstream industries improved slightly. Traders and mills wanted to lift quotations for welded pipe as the price had been falling for nearly two months. In view of that, insiders predict that welded pipe prices are likely to go up in April.
