The stainless steel market in January was generally flat with prices of most products unchanged and demand shrinking. Most participants began retreating from the market for the Spring Festival holiday in the middle of January, so the market got colder and colder in the second half of the month. The price of the raw material fluctuated this month and the support to the finished steel market was weak. Most buyers and sellers will return to the market after February 7 and some will go back after February 14, so insiders predict that the stainless steel market will warm up gradually after mid-February but prices are hard to go up without strong demand.
