AM Statistics: Chinese ferronickel production up by 17.33% MOM in November

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Dec 13 - According to Asian Metal, the ferronickel production in China was 462,900t in November 2013, up by 9.3% compared with that in October. Furthermore, the production of ferronickel in China was 35,610metal tons in November, up by 17.33% compared with that in October.
Inner Mongolia, Shandong and Jiangsu are the main producing area in China. The ferronickel production was 28,300 tons and 2,830 metal tons in Inner Mongolia, 139,000 tons and 9,940 metal tons in Shandong province, and 84,000t and 8,380 metal tons in Jiangsu province.
In end of November, ferronickel plants had to halt ferronickel production due to the environmental protection examination. Most ferronickel plants in Ulan Qab, Inner Mongolia had to suspend ferronickel production. The supply for ferronickel moved down in North China. However, the demand for ferronickel kept active, and most ferronickel plants were active to produce in Shandong, Jiangsu, and Fujian. The ferronickel output kept at a high level. Xinhai Technology increased high-grade ferronickel output in end of November to 67000t . Furthermore, Jiangsu Baotong Nickel Industry, An Steel Group Minyuan Special Steel Co. Ltd., started ferronickel production and Jiangsu Xuzhou Jinxiang Metallurgical Co., Ltd. resumed ferronickel production. In this case, the output of ferronickel increased in November.
Many stainless steel plants decreased the ferronickel purchasing price, but the supply in North China is insufficient, so some ferronickel plants refused to decrease the offers. The price of ferronickel may keep firm in December.
