The domestic stainless steel market was still cold in July, although prices of some products such as sheet and pipe went up slightly encouraged by the price hike of the raw material-nickel. The demand from downstream customers remained soft even though prices of those products increased, so prices of other products such as stainless bar and stainless scrap kept unchanged or even went down. Insiders predict that prices are unlikely to move up in August, when is still the traditional dull season.
