China entered the Mid-Autumn and the National Day holidays from September 30th to October 7th and the silicon metal market was quiet. After the holidays, Chinese silicon metal market was stable temporarily. With the approaching of the dry season in South China, silicon metal smelters hold offers firm and some begin to hold back from selling. South China usually enters the dry season from late October and the power price will increase at the time. Silicon metal buyers purchased more materials in around mid-October and Chinese low-grade silicon metal prices increased slightly in the second half of October while high-grade silicon metal prices kept stable. In October, Chinese silicon metal export market saw more inquiries. Silicon metal suppliers raised the export offers under the domestic price rise and the sharp RMB appreciation, but the transaction prices increased slowly.
