Prices of wire rod and rebar in China showed an up-down trend in October. Prices surged after the 8-day National Day holiday because of the depressed demand released, however, the upward trend only remained several days and prices began moving down. With the approach of the 18th National Party Congress which will be held early November, the construction steel market is likely to keep steady with prices fluctuating slightly. Nevertheless, prices would go down further in November, the traditional slow season.
