Domestic germanium metal market prices increased by 5% to RMB10,900-11,100/kg (USD1,730-1,761/kg) in August. Values increased by 21% to USD1550-1575/kg and by 6% to USD1,600-1,630/kg for germanium metal 99.99%min in Europe and US market respectively. The price increased because the supply of raw material tightened and suppliers held off from selling. The price of germanium metal is unlikely to skyrocket as it has recorded the highest over past few years.
