Tungsten market remains quiet in August, and the demand from downstream market does not improve obviously. Due to sluggish economic situation and slow capital construction, the consumption for cemented carbide keeps low. Most consumers in terminal market reduce stocks and purchasing volume, so the demand for tungsten carbide powder decreases. Without support from downstream market, tungsten products prices move down in the month. Tungsten concentrate price almost touches the production cost, so more and more suppliers stop selling. Traders and speculators return to the market for purchasing and push up tungsten concentrate price. Market participants forecast that tungsten market will be stable in September, and shows no sign to change greatly.
