Domestic germanium metal prices increased further in July that is partly resulted from concentrate supply of raw material. During July, rates for domestic germanium metal 99.99%min increased by 14% from RMB9,000-9,200/kg (USD1,428-1,460/kg) to RMB10,300-10,500/kg (USD1,634-1,666/kg), while prices in European and American markets increased by 13% and 8% to USD1,270-1,300/kg and USD1,300-1,330/kg respectively. Downstream users were likely to forced to procure large volume material along with continuous uptick prices, so it was anticipated that germanium prices were likely to increase further next month.
