In April, domestic magnesia market had no great improvement with few deals concluded in spot market, and more smelters reduced or stopped production due to high stockpiles and weak demand. Demand for refractory materials remained weak too, and competition became fierce under the gloomy economy. Meanwhile, magnesia export market ran slowly too. As the whole economy didn’t pick up, along with enough inventory, most overseas consumers were not active to place orders and still held wait-and-see attitude towards Chinese market.
