BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Dec 11 – In recent days, British Standard Institute (BSI) approved Shanxi Province-based Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd (TISCO) with ATF ISO/TS16949 authorization, remarking that automobile steel produced by TISCO regains an acceptance of international automobile industry, according to news on TISCO website.
TISCO has engaged in the development of automobile steel for many years, becoming a major HR automobile steel domestically. The company develops high-strength HR sheet for automobile firstly, and markets various HR automobile steel plate including beam steel, wheel steel, axis steel, shell steel series which are able to satisfy all commercial car makers’ requirements. For stainless steel for automobile, TISCO’s automobile stainless steel could be a environmental material for Chinese automobile industry in the future for high corrosion resistance, high strength, low cost.
In 2010, TISCO owned over 70% of market share in ultra purity ferritic stainless steel for automobile exhaust system market, owned 80% of market share in domestic extra high strength steel for automobile market, becoming the top producer of extra high strength steel for automobile domestically.
Besides, TISCO successfully develops the third generation HR sheet/coil and CR sheet for automobile with over 30GPa%, enabling lighter, safer vehicles with fewer cost on diesel.
TISCO has been recognized by FAW, Dongfeng Automobile, Sinotruk, and become a supplier for these enterprises.
