Selenium price kept rising in October but the main impulse came from speculation by the suppliers rather than from the demand side. As downstream manganese market did not improve much, thin deals were made along with the price increase. Many buyers were pessimistic about the future market with the expectation for future economy turned gloomy. Though the higher offer in global market pushed selenium price to rise in China, many buyers were reluctant to purchase at high levels. Late the month, with demand shrinking further, prices of both selenium and selenium dioxide started to slide in China.
