In September, manganese flake market kept quiet in general, and manganese flake price hovered at a low level at about RMB18,900-19,100/t (USD2,834-2,864/t) ex works. With power supply recovering, the operating rate of smelters increased in Guizhou, Hunan and Guangxi. There was no sign for the demand from the downstream market to recover, and consumers from steel mills held the wait-and-see attitudes towards the future market, so the market deals kept in thin trading. The summer was past, and consumers were still pessimistic towards the future market in October.
