Prices of rebar and wire rod in June declined in most Chinese markets because of the price downtrend of raw materials-billet and iron ore. Most domestic steel mills reduced ex-works prices, which weakened market traders’ confidence. The demand from downstream construction industry is unlikely to increase with the coming of summer when it is getting hot and rainy, and it will slow down the operation of construction projects. Consequently, prices of wire rod and rebar are predicted to go down in July.
