Both selenium and tellurium market shrank in May when demand from downstream industries were decreasing and the prices slide after hovering at the high levels for a long period.
Downstream manganese market was in low performance in May while many smelters halted production due to reducing demand and tightening power supply in China. Demand of selenium dioxide was inactive and its price was pressed to slide continuously, depressing selenium market as well . Lower prices also were seen in global markets where supply overweight demand . Thin deals were reported .
