In first 8 moths this year, China exported 6.211 million tons of steel products to South Korea, with a growth of 111 . 9% year-on-year, and it shared 20 . 1% of the total export amount . Those to ASEAN, the European Union and India were 5 . 567 million tons, 2 . 77 million tons and 2 . 729 million tons, with year-on-year increases of 1 . 6 times, 250 . 3% and 5 . 8 times respectively, which took up 18 . 0%, 9 . 0% and 8 . 8% of the total export amount.
The accumulative export volume to above four markets amounted to 55.9% of the total amount . In addition, China exported 688,000t to the United States in first 8 months this year, with a year-on-year decrease of 12 . 5%.
The import amount from Japan was 5.229 million tons from January to August, increasing by 45 . 3% compared with that of the last year . By contrast, those to South Korea and Taiwan reduced to 2 . 777 million tons and 1 . 547 million tons respectively, with markdowns of 10 . 3% and 9 . 7% . Import amounts in above three markets shared 46 . 8%, 24 . 8% and 13 . 8% of the total import successively.
The accumulative import volume from above three markets amounted to 85.4% of the total amount . Furthermore, China imported 775,000t from the European Union in first 8 months this year, with a year-on-year increase of 37 . 3% . However, those from Kazakhstan and Russia markets reduced to 170,000t and 161,000t respectively, witnessing markdowns of 58 . 6% and 85 . 6% year-on-year.
