Mianning Rare Earth Resources Comprehensive Development Project started

13 Jan 10 - Liangshan Mianning Maoniuping development project of integration and restructuring resources of rare-earth mineral rights co-funded by Sichuan Province Mining Investment Group and Jiangxi Copper Corporation started to construct in the industrial park of Mianning County, Liangshan on 8th January.
To develop Mianning Maoniuping rare-earth mine orderly, Sichuan provincial party committee and provincial government are in support of Liangshan to introduce Jiangxi Copper Corporation and to cooperate with Sichuan Provincial Mining Investment Group to form a joint venture, Sichuan Jiangxi Copper Co., in accordance with relevant policies and following the market principle. Sichuan Jiangxi Copper Co., Ltd will integrate and develop Mianning Maoniuping rare-earth mineral rights, and construct the production base combined with deep-processing and application of rare-earth as a collection of rare-earth mining, smelting separation and deep-processing, to achieve the goal of change from the rough-processing of raw materials to the development of refined and deep-processing product, and to build a high-tech Southern rare earth industries.
Maoniuping REE project will be completed in two phases, with a total investment of 3.66 billion Yuan and the annual output value is expected to be more than 4 billion Yuan after the completion. The first phase will be closed in December 2011 to complete industrial chain from the rare-earth mining, smelting to the intensive processing with an investment of around 2.06 billion Yuan. The second phase will be closed in December 2015 to from the industrial chain of the five end products with an investment of around 1.6 billion Yuan, and built rare-earth industrial base of deep processing of rare-earth-oriented.
